We often get caught in the rat race, work, school, deadlines, family obligations or other commitments. It’s important that you look after yourself and set some “me” time aside weekly. Book a date with yourself and put it in your calendar, make it sacred and non-negotiable. Don’t let anything else bump it out!
It can be a treat or just something you enjoy that helps you relax and empty your head. Leisurely read the Saturday paper at your favorite coffee place, go to a concert, the museum, gallery opening or watch a movie, dinner at a nice restaurant, pampering session at the spa etc. You don’t have to spend money either, it can be an outdoor activity, practice your favorite sport, a walk on the beach or a hike (or forest bath as Japanese like to call it), draw, paint, meditate, read, heck daydream! Do whatever you like guilt free, it’s your “me” time so make it yours!
If you’re single need to let some steam off, why not have a sexy date with yourself? A glass of prosecco, a bubble bath, your favorite playlist then slip into sexy lingerie and pull out your favorite toy and enjoy your body!
Your “me” time will keep you balanced and you’ll gain a new perspective. You’ll go back to your life and current situation with renewed energy and a fresh outlook. What was a tricky problem to solve may suddenly be a small hurdle you can handle, what seemed to be a big endless task will now appear to be a much simpler one.
Many of us feel the pressure to constantly perform and deliver, regardless it’s expected of us or self-imposed. Be the perfect partner, the perfect parent, the perfect sibling / friend etc. We need to regularly step away from our daily preoccupations and that pressure to replenish ourselves and just chill and be.
So what will you do for your “me” time?
